London Fischer LLP, headed by partner John E. Sparling and senior associate Christopher Ruggiero worked closely with Turner, lobbyists and Congress to effectuate the recent passage of the 9/11 Health and Compensation Act (the so-called Zadroga Bill) that reopens the Victim's Compensation Fund with an additional $2.3 billion in compensation for economic losses and injuries and establishes a 5 year $4.3 billion program to provide medical monitoring/screening to eligible responders and community members. The new law will also provide Turner and other defendants with a limitation on liability for the remaining lawsuits that did not enter into the settlement and future cases that are filed.
